Pamela White is an emerging theatre director, administrator, and playwright particularly interested in bringing new life to the stage, whether that be by shaking up the classics or producing new work.
As a leader, Pam knows that collaboration is essential. For Pam, the most exhilarating moments in a process are when somebody changes her mind or comes up with a brilliant idea she never would have conceived on her own.
Pam strives to foster connection and compassion, both in and out of the rehearsal room. She is adamant that all of her collaborators feel supported in voicing their needs and ideas.
Pam especially values theatre that explores the complexities of human existence. Through her work, she seeks to spread awareness of the hidden struggles of everyday life, while still highlighting the small moments of joy and love that make life worth continuing. She endeavors to blur the lines between theatre and reality, and between reality and imagination, just enough to remind everyone that we are all only human, and that we can only truly overcome hardship and hate if we do so together.
Outside of theatre, Pam prides herself on her adapatability and how much she cares.
A traveler at heart, Pam can fall in love with just about any location you stick her in. Her first love was the peaceful mid-state New York suburbs. Then it was NYC. Then Philadelphia. Then Boston. And don't even get her started on London. Pam strives to always look on the bright side and find something to enjoy about every place she visits and every experience she is granted.
Pam's positivity is only possible, though, because of the time she dedicates to self-care (thank you to years of therapy for that lesson). She bakes, she meal preps, she crochets, she spends time surrounded by the people she loves. She does all of this so that she has the capacity to care for the people around her.
Pam's soul is especially set ablaze by nurturing the next generation. She has worked in several daycare settings over the years, and has found that there are few things more exhilarating than watching babies and toddlers discover the world.
Pam hopes that, as an individual, she can live every day with the same sense of wonder she sees in those kids' eyes. She also hopes that, as an artist, she can help others discover (and rediscover) that wonder.
